About the Artist
Ellen Stavros is a Canadian born artist who began
to draw and paint at a very
young
age. Paper, Canvas, Ceramic, Glass and Silk
are some of the surfaces
Ellen Stavros creates on. Her original techniques are the
result of years of experimentation
with
traditional and cutting-edge materials. A good example is the way she
uses
metallic accents and texture to reflect light through colour.
Her maverick style
and
eye for colour enable her to continually create new and innovative works of
art.
The artist
strives to incorporate her rich repertoire onto various surfaces.
Stavros' influences are steeped in Ancient and Modern Greek culture. This combined
with a rich Canadian heritage and a profound love of nature, provides fuel and
inspiration for her unique
expressionistic work.
